Ricky Martin a short Biography

Born December 24, 1971, in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Ricky Martin started his rise to fame with commercials at the age of six. Ricky Martin, birth name Enrique Jose Martin Morales IV, was in a boy band called Menudo in which he left at the age of 18. When he quit the band, Rick Martin went back to his hometown of San Juan to finish his high school education. After completing high school he moved to New York to pursue a solo career in singing. Ricky Martin, his debut album, was released by Sony Division Latin Division in 1988.

One of My Favorite Songs By Ricky Martin Called "Livin La Vida Loca," composed by Desmond Child and Draco Rosa. This song was seen as a gateway for Latino Singers to make a transition to an English speaking market.

After becoming a world Pop sensation, Ricky Martin moved on to acting by staring as a singer in a musical called To Reach a Star. The show was so popular that Martin was given the same role in the movie version. While acting he was also still recording music and doing concerts.

Ricky Martin was famous among Latin Communities for his Latin-Pop music style. He was also influential in bringing  Latin Culture into the mainstream of American Pop. His creativity as a performer was challenged when he was in Menudo because they could not create their own music. Martin's career grew when he became a solo artist with the majority of his songs he helped co-write. He was able to use his voice and music to give many latino born singers hope to become performers.  While he may have become a part-time actor, he will always be known for his music.

The song called "Adios" was co-written by Ricky Martin,Yotuel Romero, and Antonio Rayo. It is both in Spanish and French.

Personally, I love Ricky Martin for his catchy tunes and great performances not many would say the same thing. His song “Livin La Vida Loca,” is still one of my favorite songs. I first heard it in the movie Shrek and I knew that I just had to find the original song. I think that Ricky Martin had a really amazing talent for his choice in rhythm. The type of tempo that makes one want to learn how to do the Salsa. Many songs were not meaningful but written to be entertaining. For example, the Song “Livin La Vida Loca,” has 179 BPM. Meaning It is a perfect song to work out to and fast-paced that it makes one want to just get up and dance. All-in-all, the latin-pop genre has grown over time and Ricky Martin had helped pave the way.
